Sunflower fields forever

A series of pictures, because I am too tired to think straight.

A sunflower field at dusk, last summer.  I’m looking forward to sunflower season again this year.  It has always been one of my favorite times of year.  Even though the days are growing shorter, there is a certain quality to the light that simply can’t be had any other time.

A mushroom, from just slightly below.  Mushrooms have always captivated me.  There is something magical and alien in their strangeness, and I have always loved them for it.

Early morning spiderwebs.  They’re so delightful glittering with the dew.

This one has always made me laugh, since it reminds me of the Death Star.  A mushroom death star then.  And that, of course, makes me think of this, which has nothing whatsoever to do with gardening and everything to do with the death star, but is funny.

And that’s all I have for tonight.
